Through daily work, experience, and responsibility. That’s how what I create today came to life.

Janita Januškauskaitė-Plungė was the first - or among the first - to achieve many milestones in Lithuania. In 1987, she began her journey in grooming and became a professional in the field. Alongside a dog grooming salon, she opened a pet supply store - something that felt almost like a miracle to dog owners at the time. In 1992, she became President of the Lithuanian Poodle Club, and in 1994, at just 23 years old, she became an international judge - the youngest in the world at the time. In 1991, she founded KIKA, one of the first companies of its kind in Lithuania. Over more than three decades, the family business has grown into the international group of companies known as KIKA GROUP.

Breed Protector

Each breed has its own history and purpose. My work is to preserve them with respect, knowledge, and care.

Janita’s first dogs were Poodles, and she played an especially active role in promoting the breed, as well as in its breeding and preservation of quality in Lithuania. Later, Bichon Frisés, Maltese, and Pomeranians joined the family - breeds that have been born and raised at the TAURO KENNEL since 1994.

The Janita and Tauras Plungė Charity and Support Foundation was not built in a single day. It began as a long-held family dream — a deeply rooted belief that they were meant to do more than simply work in their own field.

February 24, 2022 — the day of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine — accelerated everything. On that day, they realized with clarity: they could no longer afford to wait.

Teaching means learning twice as much.

I began sharing my knowledge at a very early age — as soon as I stepped into the world of cynology. I was just fifteen or sixteen when I was already confidently standing in clubs of animal enthusiasts, giving talks on dog care, socialization, breed characteristics, and breeding programs. Even then, I felt a strong inner drive not only to learn, but to pass on what I had discovered.
